September 2013

This month the Coit Road Farmer’s Market (15000 Woodworth Ave, 44110) is rolling out the red carpet (AGAIN!) for Cleveland cyclists! Food, drink and fun will be had by all! Meet in the southwest quadrant of Public Square at 6:30 PM. Depart at 7:00 PM. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Our friends at the market are working overtime to make this an event to remember. There will be plenty of beer and homemade local food on hand. All cash donations to The Coit Road Farmers Market will be welcome. And good general house keeping would go a long way to make sure they are ready to open at 8:00 am Saturday. Any additional help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE CONCERN AND FELT THAT WAY AT FIRST. IT TAKE A LITTLE PLANNING AND TEAMWORK. WE ARE A FAMILY, WE WILL HAVE YOUR “BACK”. NOW THAT WAS A GREAT RIDE, HAD A BLAST. THERE SEEM TO BE MORE FEMALES!!! AND THAT IS A GOOD THING. JUST COMING OFF A BICYCLE ACCIDENT, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE FOLKS WEARING HELMETS ( WITHOUT ONE, I WOULD NOT BE TYPING THIS FROM EARTH). THANKS YOU CPD. THE VIDEO OF AUG 13/PART 2 IS JUST AWESOME!!!! I MEAN A REAL FEEL.. THE VID’S ARE A GREAT SELLING POINT. THANK YOU AND BE BLESSED. G.

Yeah i agree, as a matter of fact me and a friend pick up
a young lady riding by herself and rode with her all the way
back to public sq.So like you said all you have to do is ask someone,
and it was a NICE ride!.

  2. Does anyone know the attendance number this time?

Not to drag the mood down but who wants to ride back to the heights through east cleveland, alone afterward in the dark, at 9pm on a friday night? When I was younger and naive I did many times till i was jumped twice btw.
There is safety in numbers but people disperse on there own afterward. Don’t get me wrong the farmers market is good, it will probably be fine but the organizers need to consider them selves responsible for any newbies they invite along when they leave afterward. They want to share the bike message in all parts of town but is this a good idea?

There where many mini-massses formed for the ride back to different neighborhoods, as well as other options for the return trip. If you see groups of bikes forming at the end of the ride, it is perfectly acceptable to ask if they are headed your direction and if you can join. No one would turn you down. If you rode home alone you did so by your own choosing. Most of the riders do their best to look out for each other. Thanks for your concern.

After eating and having a beer, three of us (2 guys, 1 girl) in our 40’s left the farm at 10:33 and rode back to the West Side via St. Clair thru Downtown.
Very little car and pedestrian traffic until reaching W25th.
