April 24 Cara Critical Mass Ride to the Co-Op

She showed us how to bravely face our challenges with grace and grit. Tonight we will ride with her in our hart’s with thoughts of her family on our minds. We will greatly miss you Cara.

Due to Public Square being closed, we will once again meet at Mall A (Veterans’ Memorial Plaza) by the Fountain of Eternal Life (just east of the Key Tower between Rockwell and St. Clair Avenues) at 6:30 PM and ride off at 7:00 PM.

This month after we spin around our beautiful city we will visit friends and fellow Bike Nerds at the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op. The Co-Op has invited their new neighbors Brick and Barrel Brewery to join party (I guess we know who is making the beer run).

August ride to MOCA

“MOCA opens its bike racks and doors to the cycling community in this lively celebration of bike culture. On Toby‚Äôs Plaza, visitors can experience the sounds of local group Pleasure Leftists and participate in a bike-made printmaking activity. Inside, MOCA will present Cleveland-made biking and bike related videos. Two MOCA memberships, a custom Forest City Portage bag, and bike swag will be raffled throughout the evening.

Want to get a ride in before the party? Meet up with Cleveland Critical Mass at Public Square at 6:30 pm. Join hundreds of fellow cyclists in a non-centralized, public ride to emphasize bicycle awareness. The ride will end at MOCA around 8:30 pm. Indoor and outdoor bike parking will be made available, as well as water stations, cash bars, and a blender bike.”

As usual, we will meet up at Public Square at 6:30 PM and leave at 7:00 PM. For those of you driving to the destination and mini-massing into Public Square, here is MOCA’s address:

This month The Mass takes a departure from what has become the norm for our rides. We will meet as usual and ride together but… We have no predetermined end point! The front leads and decides where to go this month. One request is that if one decides to take a leadership role please be responsible and thoughtful of the others in the group…For premassing it is suggested that everyone meet up behind the West Side market as it is pretty close to downtown. Let’s saddle up and go somewhere fun and spontaneous!!! Meet at 6:30 on Public Square and leave at 7:00. Get on your bikes and ride…Happy Friday!!!

It’s time to bike with friends again!!! This month we are ending at Mahall’s (13200 Madison Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107)! Great food, lots of beer & fantastic bowling! We ride regardless of ice, snow, cold & rain (but let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates for our last winter outing!). Meet @ Public Square @ 6:30 and leave @ 7:00. Happy Friday!!!

Ring in the new year by riding with the mass! The Chinese New Year that is ūüôā This month we will end in the Quadrangle District/Asia Town at Emporer’s Palace 2136 Rockwell Cleveland Ohio 44114. This month the Coit Road Farmer’s Market (15000 Woodworth Ave, 44110) is rolling out the red carpet (AGAIN!) for Cleveland cyclists! Food, drink and fun will be had by all! Meet in the southwest quadrant of Public Square at 6:30 PM. Depart at 7:00 PM. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!


Our friends at the market are working overtime to make this an event to remember. There will be plenty of beer and homemade local food on hand. All cash donations to The Coit Road Farmers Market will be welcome. And good general house keeping would go a long way to make sure they are ready to open at 8:00 am Saturday. Any additional help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This month The City of Euclid is celebrating cycling by rolling out the red carpet for CCM! We are ending at the Shore Cultural Centre 291 E 222nd St, Euclid, OH 44123 for a free Brew and View event. Celebrity bartenders will be on hand and a few bike related films will also be showing. Many of the local area merchants will be donating a % of sales to the Shore Cultural Centre , there has been mention of a “Beer Truck”, and much much more. Come on and ride out to Euclid for what may be the largest and most fun CCM ever!!! Meet in the SW quad of ¬†Cleveland Public Square @ 6:30 and depart @ 7:00 Happy Friday!!!

Thank you to Barbara Clint , James Sonnhalter, and the Shore Cultural Centre for all their efforts in planing. And thanks also goes to Mayor Bill Cervenik,  for supporting this event.

Parking will be available at the municipal lot behind the Lake Shore Cinema 7. You can also park on the south side of the Shore Cultural Center.

BTW the¬†Beachland Ball Room tells us that ¬†Wesley Bright and the Hi-Lites won’t actually go on til 10-ish . They¬†will be offering¬†$2 off for all cyclists.

This month we will end on the ever popular Whiskey Island. Things to do on Whiskey island??? Frisbee, watch the sunset, take a dip, hang with friends, make new ones, grab some food/drink at The Sunset Grill, play volleyball (possibly), skip stone into Lake Erie, build a sand castle or cash in on a half price bike admission to the Burning River Fest, the possibilities are limitless…just have a great Friday!!! We will meet in the SW quad of Public Square @ 6:30 and leave @ 7:00 Get on your bikes and ride. Happy Friday!!!!!

Bike to the Burning River Fest and receive HALF PRICE ($6) admission thanks to Squire Sanders! Also, there will be FREE bike valet right at the opening gate of the Fest provided by Ohio City Bicycle Co-op and a safety check on Friday night at 9:45 p.m. in the Boathouse.

DIRECTIONS: Bikers can access Whiskey Island by way of the tunnels at the north end of West 65th St. and West 73rd St. and then continuing to the Fest site via Whiskey Island Drive.

This month’s destination has been decided and it looks like it is Lakewood. The mass will end at Kauffman Park on Aurthur Ave just north of Detroit, this will give everyone a chance to socialize and make plans on where to enjoy the rest of the evening. The Warren and Detroit area has a lot of great places to check out! Let’s take Lakewood over with bikes.Meet up on the SW quad of Public Square @ 6:30 and leave @ 7:00…HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
